Room EQ before DAC, Linux/Windows/Stand-alone solution?

DIY DAC's present an amazing value and by far surpass cheap receivers. Receivers however have two trump cards:
- Audyssey XT32, YPAO, MCACC, etc. room correction
- Subwoofer output + subEQ

What PC solutions are there that can equal or outdo Audyssey XT32 and be placed before a DAC?
What DIY stand-alone solutions are there that can be added to a DAC?

Thanks

I was vaguely already aware of REW but didn't know if there are better alternatives or how it stacks up to the best of Audyssey versions.

I am looking deeper into REW:
1) How do I get HDMI video from my Playstation 4>PC>HDTV? Then get the audio from the PS4>PC>DAC with HDMI/Toslink? Aren't HDMI security standards finicky about that?
2) Subwoofer output with REW? Special adapter?
3) Optional: Volume & On screen overlay GUI for volume?

i think you are right, you probably won't find a way to eq hdmi audio from your Playstation.
When using your PC as a source REW & EqualizerAPO is a really nice. I am still new to this, but as far as I have figured out, room correction EQ should be limited to frequencies below ~200-500hz.
For volume you could use a media center remote. Search for Rii Mini i25 Wireless to get an idea what i am talking about

I think you are right xcj999. HCDP really kills it but I also realized that HDMI to I2S is not a possibility as as well 🙄. So that sucks but I think I can convert HDMI to Toslink 192khz, then use REW on the PC, then use Toslink to the DAC at 192 khz.

I still have some questions regarding REW, volume control, and subwoofer output.
REW SAMPLE RATE - I read that REW with Java drivers has a sample rate of 44.1khz, 44khz and with ASIO drivers 98khz. Are these sample rates only for the test tones for the room correction? Or is that the max rate I will get with actual movies and music after calibration?
SUBWOOFER OUTPUT - How do I output to a subwoofer directly from the desktop computer with analog?
VOLUME CONTROL - If I have analog output to the subwoofer and Toslink to the DAC how do I control volume with the PC? Each will have within Microsoft Windows a separate playback device (Toslink and analog). Does REW control this and apply sub and speaker sensitivity differences when adjusting for volume?
