Hi,
I have seen a pair of Rogers LS7 speakers for sale at £200 GBP.
After reading some good reviews (but few and far between), does anyone know if they are worth buying at this price?
They look in good condition, but my concern is they are an old speaker, I estimate mid 1990's, and my money would be better invested in something new?
Any comments / advice would be great.
Thanks.

They may be older than that. I think I picked up a used pair back in 1993?
Personaly I wouldn't give over $50 for a pair of them let alone 200 pounds!
Then again perhaps the amp I was using at the time didn't mate well with them.

They could even be as old as the mid -late 80's.Having worked for a dealer back then I remember liking them alot.
If BBC sound is what you after... it might be worth it.
What about 2nd hand Spendor SP 1/2 or Harbeth Monitor 30. How much are they over there?

re Rogers LS7's
Hi
I bought a pair of LS7's, new, in 1984 for about £330. I auditioned them against Mission, KEF and something else similar and found them to be quite outstanding. In recent years I have compared them with new speakers in the £1200 plus bracket and they are STILL outstanding! I use mine daily and the only enhancement I have invested in (about 6 years ago) is a 3 metre pair of good quality cables/gold connectors at a cost of £80. I have used them with Mission Cyrus and Audiolab 8000A amps with equal success.
If the speakers you have seen are in good condition internally then I would say they are a bargain at £200!
Highly recommended.

If in good condition these are likely worth the tariff, they will have some collectors value as well.
You do need to have the right amp for them.
