I just bought a pair of Rogers LS6A speakers with no tweeters. Does anybody know what the replacement Seas tweeters for them? Or maybe equivalent if not manufactured anymore.

Thank you.

Hi GMark,
and welcome to the forum.

You should ask (diyaudio) HiFiNutNut, he had one pair or more.

I'm guessing it must be one of this;

1) SEAS 19TAFD-G H0532 PRESTIGE 3/4" (6,2 vcr) (94mm/front plate)
http://www.audiophile.com.au/pdf/seas/prestige/tweeters/h0532_19tafd_g_datasheet.pdf

2) SEAS 19TAF-G H0414 PRESTIGE 3/4" (6,2 vcr) (94mm/front plate)

3) SEAS 25TNF H392 1" - "Vintage" (4,8 vcr) (104mm/front plate)

4) I'm inclined that Vifa D27TG-35-06/45 06 1" - (4,6 vcr) (104mm/front plate) would also give an excellent mix but I don't know.

Which one Inductor?

Thanks for the recommendations. I did find the direct replacement for it which is the Seas 19TAF/G06 from Solen. Unfortunately of course it is now discontinued and they only have one is stock(not a pair). So now I need to find out which one of the other tweeters from Seas you recommended sound closest to Seas 19TAF/G06? or which one is even better? I just want a drop in replacement without messing with the xovers.

I do like tweeters with good low end frequency response like my old Dynaudio D28 I had in my previous car. Voices had a good undertone and cymbals where clear. I do not want to spend as much but I am sure there are better tweeter these days for a little less $$.

Thank you

On the cheappo side (measure your flange sink-in to make sure it is 94mm and not 104mm) there is a tweeter that has not the same output curve, but that fits fine the specs. (when you are waiting for a perfect fit) is the

A good substitute that will need some coordination and probably a 2dB L-Pad, if there is the need (2 resistors or you can use a variable one/this is not bad idea because you can buy one (2) from the same shop), and testing but that is a very good quality tweeter I would choose, and give the patience to work on, is this one

L-Pads & Attenuators (LP15 or LP50. LP100 w/more power, you don't need w/ your speakers I guess)

Also for the same project or with another (DIY) project in mind -- I know you do not want to spend that much -- with a face plate of 94mm, with a semi-horn to be used with the same variable L-Pad because diff. SPL >5dB, there is this Morel - MDT37S (is a horn loaded version of the MDT30S) meniscusaudio.com $65.00 (Morel - MDT30S meniscusaudio.com $70.50). Pay attention to the hole on the inside to feet the new tweeter, or if not, it will need some work to enlarge. This is a very interesting proposition that might or M/Not work. You might find other tweeters available in the market that suits your app.

I got tweeter but over my budget....

I did get a tweeter Hiquphon OW III which has same faceplate size as the Seas I was looking for. OWIII has much better quality and supposedly comparable to the Scanspeaks. I know I am taking a risk because I do not really know how the original xovers of the LS6A would work with OWIII. But I am going on reviews and gut instinct. The results where good in my experience in my younger years of installing speaker components in my car using good components such as Focals, Infinity(Emits), ADS, and Dynaudio but easier I think to put together because I used electronic xover and multiple amps.

Thanks for the advice and time

The Hiquphon OW I/II/III is one of the best tweeters around.

"$219.00 per matched pair" Did you pay that much for it? You said:

Basically the same thing here for much less :magnify:

Notice the best Fs of the Hiquphon (lower) but not so relaxed top end. Only time or experience (use and personal taste) will tell.

Thanks for the advice and time
It's my pleasure, you are welcome.
