Working on a RF T1500-1bd, no output. Power supply is fine, producing 69.7v rail to rail. It was making a high pitched wine and sounded like it was coming from the rail caps (3900uf 100v, qty 3). I pushed on the plastic tops and they would not pop down any or much at all. I cut the top plastic cap off and the tops looked bulged, so I removed all three. The caps rattle like a c-cell battery is knocking around inside, so they gotta be bad, they test low capacitance (3100ish), with a ESR of around 1 ohm and V loss of 1.2v according to my little tester. All output FETs check OK in the board with diode test. So I am putting together a parts order for several amps, and want to grab the common parts that die for these while I am ordering the caps too. Take into account the original complaint was powers on but no output. Already added the lm5110s, what else is good to order for this amp? Thanks in advance, would like to order Monday night so I can work on the amp when I am off on Friday.
Make sure to order the regulators as well MJD 44H11 T4 and MJD 45H11 T4. These are common to fail.
Update, ordered 6 - 44h11, 2 - 45h11, the 3 caps (nichicon), 4 - LM5110, and some 6.8v zener diodes. Should be here Thursday evening. That was everything I could find searching thoughout the forum posts. Crossing my fingers 🙂
