Having trouble with the T1000-1bd, can't get a schematic from RF. The amp is gong into protect as soon as I apply a signal.

What about if you connect the signal source (low volume), then power up?

Perry the RCA's are already hooked up, it is when I press play, volume is down, that the amp goes into protect. When I paused/stop the signal, the amp comes out of protection.

Is the output filter cap soldered at both terminals.

Actually the cap is reading shorted in circuit

Cap blown up, found after removing. Removed because it was reading shorted. I still have a short somewhere, because it is still shorted from pad to pad.

Once, I had a strand of wire that got under the terminal block and shorted across the terminals.

Desolder one leg of the inductor to remove most of the circuit from the terminals to help eliminate that from the equation.

Perry I actually did pull wire from under the speaker terminals. Plus I found a leaky 3415.

The amp should power up fine now shouldn't it, if there is no more bad components? I know it won't have no output, since I am going to have to order a cap (106J/100v). I have replaced 2 IRFP3415's.

It may have problems without an output cap.

Do you have any bipolar caps?

Two polarized caps can be used if connected in reverse-series (negatives together).

You could use the unused speaker terminals to connect the cap.

Does it need to be the same value, 10uf?

Not generally.

I am getting audio now, without it going into protection. But, it is cutting out as increase the gain, no more than an 1/8 of a turn. Something else is going on I am afraid. Using a 33uf 100v cap non polarized

The 33uf shouldn't be an issue.

Do NOT use the gain to adjust the level. Use the signal source. Using the gain is changing two variables at once.

I actually found a 10uf 100v cap to replace the bad one. Ok, so leave the gain at minimum and adjust the volume?

The amp plays fine that way. I can turn the volume up all the way.

The pot may be dirty or defective.

Are you using a signal source with a grounded shield?

Well now after is plays a min the audio gets distorted and speakers start squealing.
