I can't seem to help myself
I just couldn't resist stopping to pick these all up Yesterday
I have no idea what I am going to do with all of them but the small boxes will soon be speakers for the 11YO Grand-daughter.
I hate building boxes because my woodwork sucks and the speakers I was building for the femme was vetoed by her mother because they were too big, these little ones might just pass muster tho
Your average big box cheap Chinese speaker system but the Teac subwoofer seems to be working
Fortuitously the little 4" woofers I like to play with are a prefect fit in the woofer hole, all I need now is to find a suitable tweeter, I really don't like those $2- Mylar ones at all

I've nearly cured myself of that addiction... but still have a shed full of drivers I'm unlikely to use.....
Also 3 way boxes ( or...no box at all!! Yeah, why? Just make some shelving for the bass...) because you just need to find two tweeters, and they don't need to be just two-way.
no, I feel your pain - currently destroying old cabs so I've got room in the shed, & have to buy fewer xover parts...I can almost move around without tripping over stuff...
If you use a smaller woofer, a slim on wall or in wall design can give you back the efficiency, the bass response and the space.and the speakers I was building for the femme was vetoed by her mother because they were too big,

Yes the little scavenged boxes do have a hanger bracket, but what I need to make them work properly now is a tiny little amp with a dedicated line level sub output to work with that little Teac box. I'd rather buy than DIY as I'm not really comfortable with active electronics
Nobody has any stock that is legal for me to drive and pick up and I do have several like that already, the little TEAC is a good size, ie: small and unobtrusive 6" woofer and not too loud
You have to mix and cross. If you have two old stereo amps you can fork the drive into both. Select mono on one and use a channel from it for the sub. Put a passive line level RC style crossover on each.
Alan the young femme is 11YO
I'll need to keep it as simple as possible so her mother can understand it

Ok. It should boil down to a single stereo input with no further adjustment, even if you have to hide it in a box.
I once built an active sub preamp kit from Jaycar. It was based on opamps, stereo input, stereo +1 output, fits in your hand ex power supply. I know they have mini amp kits too. I can see it all fitting in the teac box including the amp for the mains, even if you have to go digital to keep the heat and size of the heatsinks down.

Just for fun (a bit off topic I must admit)!
This is how my ex-workshop, now a little winery, looks like.
More of the same in my current workshop.
Enough for projects till the end.
Cheers everyone!

What are those? Speakers for guitar amps?
Most of them are from old organs (Yamaha and Kawai, made in Japan, paper, high SPL), so yes, they'll work for guitar amps too.
Great in high SPL stereo projects, great detail and speed.
Only caveat is they need either aperiodic boxes or OB (high Qts).
Not much of an issue in my book.
The rest is good quality hi-fi drivers, mostly Vifa.

Some of those old organs had pretty decent amps in them as well.
