Ripole question

It doesn't have to be completely symetric. In fact due to the basket and cone shape it's impossible to get it fully symetric. How symetric is the load when the woofer is placed in a closed box or bassreflex. Now that's a whole lot more asymetric. Symetrie is good offcoarse but not always practical.

Basically agree, but I didn't discuss the need for symmetry but what is necessary to achieve a (symmetric) ripole construction. Slot loaded open baffle do also work out well, which is very asymmetric.
The most important to ripoles are the compression factor.
