RIP Chuck Berry

In 1956 there was an AM radio station in Houston that would play Black & White Rock & Roll acts. I discovered R&R on KILT-AM on my Dad's car radio, running down the battery when he was home on Saturdays. We moved to Houston in April,56.
Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Little Anthony, Frankie Lymon, on the same station as Carl Perkins, Bill Haley, and Buddy Holly. I couldn't tell who was what color, & I didn't care. It was great!
I'm glad Mr Berry lived long enough to know what a legend he was. R&R Hall of Fame and all those.
Then in 1959 R&R died, and Pat Boone & Fabian took over the radio. It took the popularity of FM to get CB back in the middle of the dial again.

I'm chocked, it's not a surprise, but this guy was quite unique !

All the others are pale copies, and off course Elvis the first which was a version for old virgins and cows breeders !

Sad day ! Rock'n Rol lost one of his genuine father !

Excellent !

They are all forgiven 🙂 ... The B-B made the best rock'n roll album ever with Pet Sounds ! ... and finally not so Rock'n Roll this album, but so good 😎

So one can made the best Rock'n Roll album without being the best rocker 😀
