right channel distortion static after cd mods

Thanks Mooly,

So the + and - goes where with the voltage, so i need to read the DAC schmatic to check which is which? I was thinking of removing and putting the caps back in again around the dac and the pin (rail, half way showing, thou still gving 0.00 ohm) with a 20awg wire.

Desolder DAC and change channels?

The other player the P990, i left the opamps, and increased slightlty voltages around all those opamps and left the old DAC cerafines in and cerafine bps on the output, and power supply upped the voltage there, more than the p350 and no hastles. Could it be LM4562 is not compatible or that ulta thin wire, maybe there is a slight dry joint

if no luck, my new repair guy, who is ultra reasonable with pricing

Listen 🙂

Write down on a piece of paper the voltage on all the DAC pins and compare. For example,

Pin1 left 3 volts. Pin 1 right 3.1 volts
Pin2 left 2.65 volts. Pin 2 right 6 volts
Pin3 ??????????????????????????

And do the same for the opamp pins. Its definitely worth doing.

It sounds like you are a bit out of your depth on this one and that you will either have to find someone to help or just chalk it up to experience.

(you measure from chassis (black lead on chassis ground) and measure each pin of the DAC and opamps with the meter on say 10 volts DC range)

Thanks Mooly, yes i only really make my DIY interconnects, basic new terminals on my amps. and recapping. A few dry joint repairs, and also speaker mods, great at doing crossovers 😛 This is new to me.

Just like measuring the ohm, which I do to check if the rcas sockets are right. ive to the chasis and then to the pin, i shall do the readings of the 16 pins tomorrow. I know i kept the opamps the same with the P990, so maybe the issue maybe is with the opamp.

I'll go to the new repair guy if I have no luck or lost, especially the smd, as it was very carefully done for me.
