Ribbon Tweeter - capacitor?

Bob,

I never mentioned tube amps because as most know(or maybe they don't) they have transformer coupling in the outputs, which of course blocks any DC going into your ribbons primary winding.

Your post goes into calculating xover freqs etc etc, which most of the thread already covers.

My post was merely to point out that some ribbon tweeters have primary windings that can have very lower DCR which most solid state amps or at least any of the ones I've designed/built over the past 30 years won't like when used with a direct connection, which the thread never touched on once.

As for your comment Jon, I guess you're just lucky or you're using special amps, lol.

ICE has been the most reliable and enjoyable amplifiers i had so far. Would't even think to come back to what i had before.

@Bob
Actually they can drive some surprising load. My 1000ASP's drives 2x 10w7 PLUS 1x Volt midbass in something like 1.3ohm load, and i push the w7 with nasty EQ boost in the 20-30hz... had ZERO trouble, not even a single thermal soft-clipping

Very old thread originally about fountek neocd 3.5h tweeter.
So any experiences of crossing this tweeter around 10 khz?
What are well working cap/coil options for the tweeter here with this frequency?

What about directivity of the drivers at 10khz?
