Hi all guy´s. I have an 70's Winco semiprofessional turntable. This old machine is working mechanically OK, it is of my father´s own. Some time ago, I did an automatic ceramic/magnetic switch using a TL074 RIAA correction, and a CD4052 which switchs the network in use automatically, having a bridge between the two separate ground pins for a magnetic cartridge, and without the bridge for ceramic. It is also working fine The question is :why ceramic cartridges don not use RIAA eq and magnetic yes?

Ceramic pickups have a nonlinear response (falling to high frequencies) which approximates (well, sort of) the RIAA EQ. Read more here:
