Hi there,
just wondering, which caps to use in the riaa section of the Pearl 2. Has anyone tried the Vishay 416?
Many thanks and best,

Yes, I've got those for all the 0.1 values. Smallest tolerance in MKP and that value I could find at the time.
Do they work? Yes. Will others sound better? Not a clue.
Since I ordered 25, I could measure them with my dmm and choose the values that were closest to the required values and put those ones in the RIAA section.

thanks for the reply. how did you build the matched transistors in? i´ve got three packages with 4 transistors. nothing is stated on them. best regards.
I did my own matching. In total I bought 70 2SK170's, measured Idss, and chose 2 quads, two pairs and a reserve quad and 2 reserve pairs. I sold the rest.
You can measure Idss yourself if you want, but I guess a package of 4 will be matched, so just use 2 packages as quads and one package for 2 pairs (I'm assuming you bought the PCB's from Pass diy which come with matched FET's)

yes, i did. just wondering, if using 11/2 pack for one channel or two transitors of each pack in the same positions on the left and right board.

With four matched fets per baggie, I'd use one bag for each input stage, then split the third baggie for the remaining fets in the second stage.
