Does anybody have the plans Rex Baldock's Paraline speakers? All I can find in google is a miniscule thumbnail of a cutaway. All I know is that they were published in an issue of Hi Fi News in the 60's. Anyone?

I don't use Martin King's calculation sheets myself, does anyone know if they can handle an angled front panel? Would be interesting to see the effect.

It was done that way because most of the contemporary units -Lowthers, Wharfedales etc - needed to be listened to off-axis. The original Lowther-Voigt corner-horn is another example where you have indirect radiation to take the massive midrange peak inherent to the drivers down somewhat. Granted, you lost the top end too (>12KHz), but since most broadcasts & many recordings from the generation these drivers were designed in didn't have any in the first place, this wasn't much of an issue.
You know, I was thinking of the Transflex when I typed my original post, but eventually decided not to include since it wasn't tapered -I've a bit of a soft spot for that box; didn't realise it was as early as '52 though. Thanks for the heads up. 🙂
I reckon they did. How's this grab you on the imagination front? Nagaoka F-81: take 1 x 3in wideband driver (FE83) and attach to the end of a 12ft, quad-fold tapered pipe. Brave, if nothing else. 😉

How might the FF85WK fare in the F-81? Seems like a fun design. I'll plug that in Hornresp when I get a chance.

Horrifically. They all do. 😉 At least as far as modelled response goes. What the sound is like -YMMV. Some people seem to love it, so it obviously has something going for it.
A very rough HR sim shows me this horrific response, but I takes more to scare-off a Karlson-user. 😉 The kind of vintage Japanese fullrange aesthetic these kind of enclosures transpire is attractive IMO.
I'm kind of semi-actively looking for a small speaker project: I'm considering FE83EN, FF85WK, FE103EN, Faital 4FE30 and such. Might have to play with cardboard/foamcore boxes all winter though, I doubt I'll have time to build anything this late in the year.

The problem is that the images are about 400x600 pixels so it is really hard to read the text. 50 dpi does not sound to bad but it really is, not impossible at all but still a real struggle.
I just noticed that's not a "front panel" - that thing's reflecting off the wall.
(The first few times I looked at it I thought it was odd to show the speaker on its side, but it's got legs! I think you need a shag rug in the room for it to work properly. 😉)
