Reverse engineer simple crossover to calculate crossover frequency

Yeah that's what I was thinking. The DB slope should still cover the gap mostly. It's not like the frequency is cut out brutally. Just the slope starts a little earlier. And I can equalize a bit if I really find some mid frequencies lacking.

I'll just go ahead and solder them in and not bother waiting another 3 days for tighter specced caps.

I went with bipolar electrolytics for the woofers because at that size they are a bit smaller than film caps to fit into the crossover and I used 4.7uf film caps for the tweeters. I think it will come together nicely. Also ordered a pair of different 1" high-end Alpine tweeters that range from 3Khz up. I'll try them first with the 3.3Khz config and see how that sounds. If they are better than the 1" I have now. I'll just do the rear crossovers to make sure I don't blow those tweeters on higher volumes.

Ordered a center speaker. I'll feed it from the original unfiltered tweeter lines. There is a dedicated spot in the dash for it that has been vacant. 800-18KHz with dual coil fed from left and right channel. This should fill up any mid gap and give me some more vocals.

Thanks guys for all the support.

I've fine tuned the crossovers now. That 300Hz extra on the tweeters made the difference between slight distortion on higher volumes or clean sounding. Sounds great now.

And I added a center speaker which opens up the soundstage a lot and adds nice detail and more vocals and snare instruments to the music. It came with some Chinese cheap *** 22uf apacitors and I'll replace them with some Muse BP caps just to be sure.

Those Muse BP-P caps are freaking huge but sound very clean. A little more harsh than the previous black caps. but I think a few hours of running should take the harsh edge of. From my experience with new caps they smoothen out a bit after a few hours of load, especially bigger ones. I know everyone holds his own opinion about cap burn in time. Not to start that discussion here.
