Reusing speaker cabinet for fe167

The recommended BR enclosure for the fe167 is 15 liters with a port 2" x 2". I've got an 11 liter enclosure that when the mid and tweeter are removed leaves a cutout for the fe167 and a cutout for the port. But, the hole the tweeter was in is 2.5". What length port will I need to keep the tuning close to whats recommended with the smaller cabinet size? These will not be the final cabinet as I plan to build the proper ones early next year after we move into the new house🙂

Tuning frequency with 2.5"dia and 5.5"lenght will be around 68Hz.
I´ve built the 15l-recommended as well thinking it might go well with a sub but integration was not good enough for me.
If you consider making new cabinets go for at least a 24l-BR (as I did; have a look for example at Bob Brines FB-16/or even the FT-1600 if space permits)
Sub integration with the extended volume is so much better than with
15l but would be enough for a HT-only-setup (that was the intention anyway)

But as always YMMV and your room acoustics/size could help that the smaller cabinets+sub suffice/integrate well.

The fe167's are my first nice point source speakers
Now, that´s one hell of a good first choice.
I do believe they are one of the nicest compromises in the fullrange world.
I'll be building more than one cabinet for them. Thats part of the fun to me.
Even better, then you´ll hear the differences yourself.
Be sure to try out baffle step compensation filters as well.
They make them sound much more "round".
I`m using a 2.2mH coil with resistors 4ohms+ in parallel at the moment but that was what I had in my drawer and is maybe not optimal.

greets & loads of fun with a lovely driver
