Retrofitting halogen OHP

So I built this OHP based projector, and I'm fairly pleased with the results. However it would be a heck of lot nicer if the light source was just a little brighter and much whiter. Unfortunately the halogen bulb is noticibly yellow, and one can only correct the colours via LCD tuning so much... What I would like to do is retrofit the OHP with a brighter, whiter lamp, with as little physical modification as possible. I have no qualms ripping up the wiring to accomodate whatever ballast might be needed for a different bulb.

Do you think this is feasible given the internals of this projector, or am I just stuck to be contented with a yellowy bulb? Any ideas?

This has been done before and as long as you use a buld small enough to keep the correct geometry in the ohp then you will be fine! Try searching around a bit there are some threads around here dealing with this. Also you need to watch out for heat issues if you do decide to progress.
