I have got this projector for the sole purpose of putting in a cheap bulb, also it does not have the origenal lamp, so here is my idea/question wat kind of lamp do i need to put in hti,hqi,cdm-t etc.... that will work with the internal ballast. I know it runs a 150 watt MetalHalide bulb at 65 volts. Also where would i get it from how could i build a reflector?

ps im a lost sheep :xeye:

but i am optimistic 😎

pss i have found that other thread

which one is your like?

1. Look up the original replacement part number from the manufacturer.
2. Do an internet search for the bulb. Most supliers will post pictures and specs.
3. After this you can maybe go to a local repair shop and find a burnt up version for free or at least what it looks like in person.
4. Post what you found and maybe someone can help you.
5. I personally was trying to find a replacement for an osram vipr273/35r for my davis power beam 6. I tried a higher voltage bulb and the electronic ballest would not keep it going. If you are going to use the original ballast you must find a bulb of the correct or lesser voltage. Im sure there is a range in witch the wrong specs will work but im sure it will be close to the original. Too low and you will overdrive it and it will burn up early. Too high and it may not start or may start then shut off early from too high current draw just like my old bulb did.

Got me, but lets see what we can find.

65 volts, and how many watts? I would guess color temp of 5200 but what is yours for sure?

At least yours should be alot more common than mine was. Much more common voltage. once you have these can do a search for a compermable bulb. Then you will still need the original case to mount it in. You dont really want to mess with the units optics, but im sure others could be used.

I did a search and found lots for sale for 500$. Ouch!!!
Heres an item number for ebay. 8759146955
for 200$

You should be able to find someone with a burnt one that is really cheap. You really need the original for optics, easy mount, and heat sink. Then you can find one of those little bulbs to break open and put in it.

I can't help you with the different bulb types but I do have an Epson ELP-3000, which uses the same bulb as your Infocus LP580. I have some pictures of the cage and reflector if you want to see them and also I can get the dimensions if you want. I contacted YMH, the person who replied with the picture of the box full of reflectors, about a replacement bulb for my projector and he can get a replacement UHP bulb for $40 if you can find a cage. Ask for the JYS150 AC. Let me know if I can help.
