The speakers in the middle are in a good configuration because they would all seem to come from the same place, rather than seem to echo. They are also pointed toward the outer tables so the volume level is somewhat compensated by directivity.
If there has ever been a perfect implementation of a Cornu style system, I am hearing the wolves howling. No need for external woofers, they exhibit excellent sound distribution, they are very unobtrusive, and can be used to add to the decor and ambience rather than...well you know.
They're also the funnest speaker you will ever build and are inexpensive.
