Resistors, metal film or metal oxide?

For audio path in preamps and amplifiers what is recommended, metal film or metal oxide?

I think you may find This is one of those situations where you will have to try and see.
If your question is wich sounds best the answer will depend on who is listening .

Metal oxide resistors have been practically made obsolete by lower cost, higher performance metal film resistors.
