Resistor Question

I’m repairing an amp and came across 2 68 ohm 2 watt resistors .

The resistors measure fine but I noticed what appears to be 2 pin holes on the side of them .

Is this normal or are these going bad ?

Probably OK.

Do they appear darkened especially in the mid section? probably the finishing ceramic just gotten old as time and exposure to temperature across them, but if you can clearly identify them and the test is of that identification then they should be perfect.
However, resistors are cheap you could change them, increase the watt if you’re all that concerned about them.

Could it be part of the design? You didn't say what they looked like.

68 ohm 2 watt can take about 11.5v. Connect that voltage across them and measure the current. If it hols relatively steady (they will vary in value as they heat up) at around 0.17 amps, they're OK.

Sorry I’m referring to the 68 ohm resistors in the Orion hcca 3100’amp that class a cap connected to it behind the power and ground terminals

It's probably the resistor in the regulator circuit.

I too have holes in a few of those resistors. I assume it's a QAQC issue when coating the resistors. Poses no issues.
