I just asked forum moderation to disable my account.
I just can't get used to diyAudio being flooded with fakers/trolls (like member A1008) and to arrogant/offensive behaviour (like that of wiseoldtech). It 'forces' me to be combative, but creates an atmosphere of negativity for both other forum members and myself.

If you ignore them, they will get fed up and go away.
Anyone with a sense of intelligence will know the fakers and be on your side.

Thanks.
One of the problems (at least for me) is that it is not so easy to distinguish between a newbee and a troll\faker. Just look at the threads started by A1008. And I'm having a hard time with the thread started by Bonfigli too.
Ofcourse you are right in that they should be ignored. But that is exactly my problem: I'm just very bad at ignoring things like that (once you spotted them). And to start using the ignore button goes very against my sense of community.
So that is why it's better that I leave diyAudio.

We used to show a member's join date beneath their avatar and that was useful.not so easy to distinguish between a newbee
I can understand this, and I don't think that using the ignore function is necessarily a reflection on the user. Why not ignore someone temporarily? And to start using the ignore button goes very against my sense of community.

On the internet is very difficult to have a proper dialogue sometimes as we don't really know anything about each other, about the struggles or experiences the other guys had at least recently. Most of these bad interactions wouldn't probably enjoy a place in our conversations at all if we knew whom we are talking too. It's like avoiding entering a dangerous neighbourhood if we know it's dangerous but here we know nothing about a lot of random thinking neighbourhoods...And most of the hatred we show is due to our incompetence or inability to cease opportunities in everything.I was randomly looking for years for people with whom I could have had a bussines in audio, as I can't see a successfull hobby not being backed by a successful bussines, but bussiness means bussiness and that adds up to the difficulty of finding the right people and binding characters aiming blindly on a platform where actually we know norhing about each other...Upwork or Linkedin are better platforms in that sense than a hobbyists one and with passionate people that you don't know or have any common interest with is very difficult to have any sort of bussines. And some people are just swormed with evil ideas about everything and anything let alone everyone else...I got some of the best advices in life from people least knoledgeable in the field I was studying and that taught me looking not only up but also down in some cases but Ican't say I'm able to do that every time I need it... In some rare cases you have to accept that some things or people cannot be changed from outside unless they change themselves.
We simply don't know each others and here's not S&P500 broker's page where we simply look at numbers and projections. We look for people like us too and nobody's exactly like us.
Rules won't solve any conflict.
Some conflicts can't be dealt with at all and some times you just need to loose .
Now imagine you had an accident and forgot all electronics knowledge ! Well ...there's a new opportunity to learn Japanese or go into diy aviation skills!

Thinking outside of the box does not sit well with the in-box thinkers.
Yep. Can we please bring it back?We used to show a member's join date beneath their avatar and that was useful.

@PFL200 You have left and come back to the forum about four times. Perhaps it's better if you leave your account open, but just stay away for some time. Or use the ignore function.
