FWIW I find it annoying and unnecessary fully quoting the post just above, what for?
So I find it great removing that unneeded "functionality"
That said, sometimes(often) I want to emphasize some point, for clarity; some posts are long winded and vague, even selfcontradicting, so Iwant to make it clear what am I answering to, so in that case only I carefully copypaste just the needed phrase,or even the relevant fragment of a phrase.

Yes, I hope we can get back to the forum software making it difficult to quote the post just above theirs. That patch sure helped keep the forum clean.
The highlight and Reply trick is great - a big improvement over the old software. (Although I find it doesn't work well on mobile)

Multi-quote was good. It seems similar to the highlight and press reply that you can do now, because you can do multiples that way. The only thing is it takes you straight to the reply box. Also, make sure your reply is saved before you change pages.

Meanwhile, highlighting quoted text does not generate the reply button. Is this a feature or a bug?
