Hello, I'm using the Lepai LP-2020A+ mini amp for a project which involves replacing the original volume potentiometer with a different one.
The reason for this is I'm concealing the LP-2020A+ board inside a larger case which already has it's own volume potentiometer attached.
The different potentiometer I'm trying to use on the LP-2020A+ board has three terminals whereas the the LP-2020A+ supports a six terminal volume potentiometer. I've worked with the three terminal types before with successful results but I'm unsure how the six terminal types work and if my three terminal one could be made to work with this amplifier.
I'm not certain this is accurate but based on what I read elsewhere the six volume terminals on the LP-2020A+ controls the two input channels. For the project I'm working on, I'll only be connecting this amp to a single speaker. Knowing that, would there be any issue with connecting the three terminals of my external potentiometer to the first three connections on the amp board and ignore the other three which I assume control the other unused channel?
Thanks for any help. 🙂

A 6 pin pot is the same as a 3 pin pot, only twice over for stereo. It's what's called a "dual gang" pot. 😉 And no, it won't work with the Lepai if left in stereo config. It would only work one channel. But then, that's what you want, right?

Thanks, that answered my question. I'm only using one speaker for this project so one channel should work.
