I was wondering if anyone here has replaced the transport unit on a Marantz sacd player, any model will do?
I have copies of 3 Marantz Service Manuals and there is nothing in them about changing the transport, as far as alignment, etc.
Swapping out a transport is relatively easy with just 4 screws and a couple ribbon cable connections, and I've done that. And I know about solder blobs, etc. Is there anything more that needs to be done?
Sony has all kind of alignment procedures, menu's etc. But I can't find anything for Marantz players.
I have an older Marantz sacd player, and the laser's seem to be kind of crappy, and expensive to replace.
Just looking for any information I can.
Thanks

Are you sure you need to replace the whole transport unit ? Usually only laser module is to be replaced.
Denon recomends in their Service Manual just to menu-reset the laser-on timers and the laser current levels. Marantz I would think is simmilar.

Nothing in Marantz Service Manuals about this.

This is what I plan to do. Thanks
