I take care about that, both reg were on a to220 3 pins header, rapid to swap. But of course the passive parts and layout is different because the chip are...I surmise it plays a role as well. I am not the only one that checked such difference between the two chips. The noise floor is so low with both that this not the data to look at imo to explain a difference that is easily re checked each time...at least on the IanCanada clock I tested...also the A123 cell or classic main supply did also difference with both regs... Now I agree it is subjective...perhaps I liked more the distorsion of one in the global setup.
Perhaps it's time for you to try an objective comparison just to confirm your subjective findings. 🤔
Try yourself...easy. After all objective listening by someonelse can be subjective as well...so you could not beleive it yourself but if you try. I mean you personnaly.
