Hello everyone. I'm recapping output section on a Nakamichi CD player 1. I was wanting to go all original here on the more critical caps but have run into a supply problem. The bypass caps on this are Nichicon Muse 220 @ 16volts. Mouser & Digikey do not carry this value so my question is this. Would I be better stepping one step down to the fine Gold Series at the correct 16volt value or going with Muse at 25 volts. I know caps work better at rated value is why I'm concearned with muse @ 25v.
As long as the voltage rating is the same or higher it is fine. Caps don't "work better" at rated voltage, in fact the more below it you can be, the better.
