2 things:
in a small car, it might be more than enough with carefully chosen speakers/ in a big SUV it would not even make a dent in road noise.
a well-designed 12" sub can take less than a cubic foot of space and if cleverly placed in the car it can be even less. If you like the way the 12" sounds, try to get a smaller box going first.

Well.
My Sub sound relatively allright at the moment, but sometimes makes part of the trunk rattle.
If i was to build a new smaller sub, it would need to be 10" and about 350W RMS, what brands would you choose?
PS: In australia we only get major brands like pioneer, jbl, jl audio, etc etc etc.
