Unfortunately I sold them quite some time ago (for less than my purchase price). Thanks anyway, however, as it may be useful in the future to me or someone else with those speakers.

I figured as much. More putting the information up there for future reference. Not a lot of info on these speakers and they sound quite good.
I would try a Cerwin Vega woofer in there. They were direct competitors back then and
are related. The Sound Dynamics had double layer foam surrounds like Cerwin Vega.
Cerwins are more sensitive then the average but Sound Dynamics S- 10, 12 and 15's were KILLING CV's in the SPL/ 1 watt game!.

Wow, Sound Dynamic 12s speakers .... that's a trip into the distant past. I worked in a stereo store that sold boat loads of those things, typically with a Yamaha CA610 amp, and a Dual 510 turntable (Yup, I'm dating myself). They were amazingly tough, and had to be because they were often abused by young adults after drinking too much beer.
It wasn't uncommon to have to replace the tweeter diaphragm, just a phenolic dome, with coil, on a small phenolic panel, that was easily replaced on the magnet. I remember we stocked a lot of them. The woofers were tough, though, and we didn't have to replace too many of them.
The crossover was, if I recall, basically a cap on the tweeter.
I can't say I ever thought much of them sonically, but had begrudging respect for a) how many we sold and b) the amount of crap they'd put up with.
