Guys,
My neighbour has an old Thorn belt drive turntable which he wants to resurrect after many years of disuse - I got the job....
The only problem with it is that the belt seems to have stretched,
so it won't play at the correct speed.
Does anyone know of a souce for replacement belts, preferably in Australia,
or have any other hints as to how I could solve the problem?
Cheers,
Pete McK

you may try...
.. using a substitute material while you're waiting for a replacement belt to arrive (there's a guy on eGay who sells them).
i've had great luck with using video-tape tape, cassette-tape, fishing string etc. mostly the profile of the pulley will determine which ones you can use.
good luck!

Do you mean Thorn-EMI or Thorens?
