replacement sub for tseq12

Hello I recently puchased a for parts 12" subwoofer true subwoofer eq 12 from ebay... paid not much for it. I checked it found the speaker voice coil had seperated from the cone, I also checked the amp board semi's they were all good. anyway does anyone know of any good replacment choices for the speaker, electrically speaking, that can be wired for ~ 4 ohm impedance... just concerned about the back emf they seem to use in the system to keep the tseq12 amp happy.

info's appreciated

inside diameter is 12" cubed, a passive radiator on one side, the damaged speaker on the other side, specs for the original speaker are few not much to go off of from the sunfire website. the speaker; 3.3 ohms, 16 to 100 hz, and a 2.5" excursion, 225 ounce magnet. the amp; 2700 watts max, mounting depth is about 8.75" from the highest point off the passive radiator that's oppsosite where the active speaker mounts. that's about all I could find

I may just try something in the way of the overbuilt types of speaker lineups.

I suppose you have an enclosure for the sub driver you mention (this is my first assumption) did you read the link about the questions? Answer one by one. One thing is the T/S parameters for a driver and we acknowledge you have almost none. Another is the dimensions of the enclosure and port, very important because it designates the drivers that can work in there.

You need to give full specs of this enclosure... this if you need a straight answer. 😉
Also if it is a bass reflex (BR) (another assumption) you need to give the full detailed dimensions (internal) and material thickness (ply /plastic) for the ports.

edit: I just got it for the second pass...
12" internal with a PR with a 4 Ohms driver. And I assume the passive driver is working also.
1ft³ = 28.317L
if we take 3L out for a driver(s) remains 25L (net).
Look here for a possible replacement.

no port just an active driver on one side and a passive speaker on the other side and the amp plate.. problem is this system runs on psi generated from the active speaker to work with the passive radiator.

the helps appreciated.

I'll post again with results after I install a speaker of course.....

1. Volume (net) and alignment. TC Sounds LMS-R 12:
Not ideal in 1ft³. What is best for a 40L might not work in a 25L.
2. In any case and after getting the right driver in the right enclosure the PR needs to be checked for area and weight.
3. We assume there's no EQ involved (in the amp/plate, generally is - in sealed) what might make things impossible to calibrate unless the same driver or similar is used.

yes the enclosure will present some difficulties, the amp plate actually has an auto eq built in I just need to set up a mic. maybe a new enclosure at some point will be necessary, too bad sunfire stopped making the match made speaker; but on the other set of work, I bought the speaker new for only $169, I will just have to see what happens.

no isuues what soever, fitment is perfect the speaker does not interfere with the amp plate, the only issue was having to relocate the transformer to the outer mounting holes on the passive radiator, to make more clearance for the tc sounds speaker magnet; also, I had to extend the speaker wires to reach the terminals..it's wired for 4 ohms right now.... well worth the $169 for the new driver tc sounds lmsr 12".....

this peaker produces smooth deep bass, no flapping about at all for this driver...

.EXCELENTE.
