Replacement ribbon with copper foil

Yesterday I have blown a ribbon of one of my Decca London horns by accident so I'm looking for a replacement ribbon.

While thinking about a DIY replacement I wandered why these ribbons are always made out of aluminum. What are the benefits of aluminum over something like copper foil or even titanium foil for better strength.

Is aluminium foil stronger then copper foil ? Is it the resistance wich is about twice as high for aluminium compared to copper ? Or does aluminium simply sound better then copper. I remember a pretty good sounding copper dome tweeter from Celestion in the 80's wich was one of the very few dome tweeters I actually ever liked so I thought it might work as well for ribbons.

Copper is probably to weak in this thin quality. Might want to look into something like titanium foil. Not as heavy as copper but stronger then aluminium. In the mean time I'm going to order some original spare ribbons.
