Could the NE4558N be a suitable replacement for the BA4560N.
Farnell only has the NE4558N.
I need the part urgently and ordering at Farnell is the fastest for me.

Where are you using this chip?

Most likely a line preamp or tape buffer, because it's not a low noise part.

The 4558 could be used instead of the 4560, but if it's a preamp you are using it, you could well try something more modern.

Some other factors might be involved though, like a proper supply, proper decoupling and proper parts around it, if you want to make a better part shine.

If you provide more info maybe you get more suggestions.

The BA4560 comes out of a Peavey XRD-680S powered mixer.

No great Hi-Fi here. Indeed the line amps are all BA4560's.
If the 4558 can do the job, the guys will be happy.
The most important factor is reliability, not the best sound.

Thanks Carlos.
I guess I'll give the 4558 a try unless Farnell carries a better part, which I'm not aware of.

Peavey is not really great sound, so go for the 4558 that is a good workhorse and will do the job well.

Please help!!!!

Did the 4558 work for you Netlist?

I desperately need to find a drop-in replacement for several BA4560 (no suffix in this case) opamps in a Studiomaster Diamond 8-2 mixer. The mixer came to me with one bad track (of the 8) and, thanks to me, now has two bad tracks! The magic smoke still lingers :xeye:

Again, price is more important than quality here!

Many thanks in advance,
Rob
