Have same question now 2020, in my regulator in my Nad 218(+/-82v) there is a couple 4793/1930 smoked and have both mje15032/33 and mje15034/35 laying here. Could they do better?
Probably but if bjts are failing you have to wonder why. Check operating temp once running again
They have been running too hot for 25 yrs with a way too small heatsink.
