Before completing a brand new sub woofer I'm working on, I thought I might upgrade my old REL Q50 in the meantime.
I'm looking for a replacement driver, good quality, with the same chassis size as the old REL, as I don't want to get into any woodworking or trying to enlarge or alter the existing opening.
Obviously the driver should be a sonic upgrade [shouldn't be too difficult] and work in a sealed enclosure size of 40cm x 40cm x 40cm. As I'm based in the UK the driver needs to be sourced from here. I wondered if abnyone would have some suggestions ?

Well if you can remove your REL driver and measure exactly what's the cutout size, we could check if something fits.
I suggest Peerless subwoofer drivers.
I suggest Peerless subwoofer drivers.
Cutout is 305mm in diameter.
Depth, well there is no internal bracing, so depth can be full depth of the cabinet which is about the same 300mm
cheers

305 mm cutout, hmmm that's a weird size...
The only woofer I know that would fit is the JL Audio 13.5 subwoofer... the 13W7.

I suggest waiting for someone to suggest you another driver, unless you can get a nice deal on a 13W7.
