I wonder if it would be a good idea to replace the cheap looking RCA audio cable on my Dual
is there a reason they used that particular/stock wire ?
They used it for cost, mainly. If the cables plug in, changing them will be easy.
Bear in mind that this will change the load capacitance on your cartridge.

Hmm, not sure what the actual effect of this would be ?
Can I just install two RCA jacks on the back and use whatever cable I like ?

Sure, but take care with the wiring inside the turntable to avoid noise pickup.
Use shielded cable or twisted pairs inside.
Should I make sure the new cable have minimum capacitance ?
Yes, then you'll be able to adjust the total load capacitance as needed upward for your cartridge.
Well, I ended up using this Sommer Stage 22, 50cm length cables with good RCA connectors. I wonder if there's a chance I now hear less high frequencies. Does it make any sense or do I just making false assumptions ? (before I go back and put in the cheap, stock cable...)

These are 68pF/m conductor to conductor, and 130 pF/m conductor to shield.
This is moderately low capacitance. What cartridge and preamp do you use?
Audiotechnica AT30E (MC) + Famco Nuance preamp with phono stage going from Tape Out to a
passive volume control and then to my QUAD 405.
They recommend 20 Ohms loading, so the capacitance should not be critical,
if that's what you're using. Do you have a schematic of the preamp?
