Hi there,
I'm not sure if this is in the right forum (so I'm sorry if it's not). Long time lurker, first time poster.
I'm finally getting around to building some Overnight Sensation MT's and have an old Klipsch KSW-50 subwoofer that went out on me ages ago and has just been sitting in the garage for ages.
It seems as if the speaker has blown on the unit - though I'd be really happy to try a few things to make sure before buying a new speaker for it. It makes sound and low rumbly noises but no longer appears to drive the driver properly.
SO 2 questions:
Any way I can be sure it's the driver?
AND
Where could I find a replacement driver for this?
Thank you much!

If the cone doesn't move smoothly without any rubbing, it is faulty. Possibly you can watch the cone as it is making its odd sounds and hear if there is mechanical shortcomings. But of course the electronics upstream can be faulty.
