Repair a broken stylus?

The accident is there.. The needle breaks 😡

I decided to insert a rod inside the cantilever, maybe i could have it to sing again?
Went to a flower store and brougt my caliper to find a cactus with strong needles and right diameter.

I mounted it in my dremel and sanded it with a 1000 paper to get it perfectly to spec.. 420um, i need some place for the epoxy glue as well. the outer diameter is 500um and i guess the thickness of the wapour deposited boron tube is maximum 30um thick... anyway, the epoxy will fill it upp easy 😛

I cut the cactus needle to 3 mm in length.
But before i inserted the cactus needle i had to make the boron tube circular. So i took a steel needle

And i tried to make the boron cantilever tube circular again...

And now the cactus needle is inserted and im waiting for the epoxy glue to cure. 😀

Then comes the listeninig and measurement!

Now that's what I call an unconventional approach! 🙂
