as anyone any idea how to reduce scratches on plastic lenes as i have a big line at the bottom of my pick from a scratch on the fresenl lens, could i polish it off or would that make it worse
Depending on how deep the scratch is and how thick the fresnel is you could have it polished. I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself.
Ask around at some optic companies and get some prices. It might not be worth it and you may be better off just picking up another one.

removed scratches

It kind of depends on what you need to polish, if it happens to be the smooth plastic surface and the scratch is not deep you can polish with a microfine type of auto compound. I had several scratches on my lens that I polished off with a very very and I can't stress enough fine compound. It worked great but the scratches were not deep. Remember to not rub in a straight line and to using a soft buffing motion. Hope this helps

Try AWI. They make great large fresnels and their main supply warehouse is in China. I had them shipped to the states... so I cant see why you couldnt get your hands on them.
Plus you can find them large enough so you have the option of using them split or together and still have the entire 15" image unlike OHP fresnels.

Just an idea......
You might want to try this just for fun...but i have no idea it it will work or even damage your lens.....
I know there are wipes for cd's that are said to takeout minor scratchs... like a skip DR. but in a wipe....i'd try it.
