Removing LED?

I have an LED that went bad after a few months (Do they burn out if too much current?). It's glued to the hole, how do I remove it? Do I use a little drill bit to pick it apart?

Use a knife to scrape the glue from around the hole.
Pull the LED and replace it.

Yes they certainly do fail when continually exposed to too much current. Assuming an LED that's used as an indicator through a hole in a panel, it will typically be glued to the backside of the panel so running a knife or other fine blade under the glue on the backside of the panel will usually free it up.

If used on AC ensure a diode is fitted either in inverse parallel or in series to protect from reverse voltages.
