Removing LCAudio XO2-clock...help

I bought an used Philips DVD-711 with ZAPFilter Mk2, and XO2 already installed.
The sound is quite (very!!!) good....🙂
My plan was to remove this (LCAudio stuff), and mount it in another CDP i own, and want to use as CD-player.
The ZAPFilter is easy-removable, but if I remove the XO2 the DVD player have no clock, and will be DEAD !! :dead: :bawling:

I want to use the DVD-player as an standalone DVD player (not connected to my main sound system), and would apreciate something about how to mount a x-tal, and the apropriate cap's the way it was in the originally player......(don't have schematics regarding this player)
Don't think there would be any point in a low jitter XO2-clock, when it is used as a DVD-player only!?.

Can anybody help me....pleeeeaaaaase ?

Hmmmm....SMD...

Here is a picture of where the x-tal should be.
On the picture there are some wires coming from the XO2 (now removed...). It seems like a resistor in paralell with the XO !? Think this too should be removed.

Is there a (easy) way to use an ordinary (non SMD) x-tal here ?
Can't see any cap's missing, or any signs of soldering exept where the x-tal should be. The original x-tal seems to have been a SMD x-tal with tree legs !?

PS: I don't need a low jitter clock in this player, just want it to work.....or is there anybody who have this particular "original" x-tal ??

You will most likely find that the Crystal on the X02 board you removed is 27MHz - this is the most common DVD Master Clock Frequency. If you wish to fit the X02 board to a CD player, you will have to change this Crystal to match your CD players operating Frequency.

As the SMD “foot print” in your DVD player has 3 Pins, it’s most likely that the original Crystal had in-built Capacitors – somewhere between 10pF to 33pF - most likely 22pF. It would be better to try and source the original crystal, if not then a normal 2-pin type can be fitted, by adding 2 external capacitors.

These Capacitors (x2) need to be fitted from both end pads (the outer most pads) to the centre pad (which is Ground), then a 27 MHz* crystal fitted across the 2 outer pads.

*First, confirm that the original Crystal was 27MHz – as fitted to the X02 Board.

Thank You, but I figured it out.....
I used the crystal from the XO clock, and two caps lying around (marked n22 !?). It is working now !! 😀
