I am working on a project (DCX active mod) which requires a Philips remote control RC5 to operate. Local electrical shop carries an aftermarket Philips remote control with code 7805. I have zero knowledge about RC and can't seem to find any info on the 'net if the 7805 will operate as RC5. Any help on compatibility will be greatly appreciated, thanks. Also, if the 7805 is not compatible with RC5, which variant codes should I look into? The local electrical shop has other offerings as well.
You can get a RC5 from Selectronics, made especially for audio.

I'm not sure about the 7805;
RC5 is the IR comunication protocol that was used until some years ago by all appliances, the common one now is RC6, vast majority of new remnotes use this protocol but us DIYrs can make do very well with RC5 remotes which are relatively easy to make and program.
