Relay between smps and amp?

You are all very correct in the unreliability of these boards.
With mine, i found the main cause of them spontaneously exploding was any voltage sag on the +/- input, which causes the output of the awful onboard linear regulator output to fluctuate, messing with the irs2092 chip.
By using very stiff power supplies i managed to get around this, however the other issue is that the inputs are just incredibly sensitive, and i had many explode just by having their inputs close to my dc-dc converters or smps supplies.

My solution to this is to simply not offer any inputs except for bluetooth, with a whole lot of input protection.

The irs2092s amps i have built before using my dc-dc converters are housed within the subwoofer enclosures out of reach.

For £12 pushing 400w, they are very good value in the right conditions. However i have overall found that the cost of building or buying mains smps for them is too much, so i will likely stick to DC-DC converters to supply them, like a car amp.

In that line of thinking a Meanwell IRM module is what is needed. Better have that Bluetooth module transmitting happiness in the air 24/7 than having an unattended high(er) power SMPS staying energized.

Or the arguably best method: add a tiny muting PCB shorting the BT modules outputs to GND at power on for the required time. That would be my way of working. Just like in japanese built gear from the eighties. I made such a PCB but I am waiting for the parts. Gerbers will be available after testing.
Yes, i have ended up using a vigortronix smps module that supplies the bluetooth module at startup. I then have an RC timer which turns on a relay on the ac input side of the smps, with a large ntc to keep the inrush current through the relay low.
I would have a go at the muting circuit, but the bluetooth module plays a chinese noise at some seconds after startup, which is annoying.

Exciting stuff. Instead of a borderline girlfriend a borderline amplifier with suicidal tendencies.

If you send me a PM I will send you a muting PCB for shipping costs. Adjustable in delayed muting so no chinese messages.

I see a loud voice yelling BANZAI!!! at 400W output power and than a flash and a loud bang😂

Haha yes, one time it made its noise at startup causing the amp to break, somehow the tl494 on the psu shut down and both the half bridge igbt’s exploded 😭
I would take your offer, but i have already cut some pcbs for the job on my pcb mill.
