Just installed a P3 upgrade motor and the motor pulley height way off with the motor pulley now rubbing the glass platter. In fact its so high it lifts the platter off the sub platter by about 4mm.
The only thing I may have done wrong is use some ordinary double sided tap as my "ebay" bought 2nd hand motor did not come with the rega double sided sticky pad.
I reckon I would need a spacer (or a really thick double sided sticky pad) around 6mm thk in order to lower the motor further to provide the correct pulley/platter clearance.
What could I have gotten so wrong?
I am planning to make a packer from 6mm ply and stick the motor to that.
Also, I have checked and confirmed the ball bearing is still at the base of the sub platter which sits at the correct height of around 1-2mm above the deck. So the problem is not that the sub platter is too low.
Any suggestions welcome

You have said it yourself. Presumably you have looked at this :-

You need to get some double sided sticky pad stuff. However these are only about 3-4mm thick (I think)

Thanks Puffin.
Today I installed a 5mm packer between the motor and underside of the plinth. All good.
Gotta say, the difference with the upgrade motor is very noticeable. no more wow, much better focus, pitch and more signal on the base too. 😀
