Ciao a tutti,
a simple question: the difference (technique and musical) between a Rega P25 Turntable (+ RB600) and the Rega P5 (+RB700).
Thanks, Giovanni

P25 - 110 / 220v motor with some adjustment. Similar to the current P5 but at higher voltage. Older version of the small plinth used on the P9 etc. Motor can be moved to tension the belt. The RB600 uses the same wire as the RB900. Sorry but I have not heard the RB600.
P5 - 24v motor with adjustment. Can use the Rega PS. RB700 is a good arm. Uses the newer small plinth.
I have owned many Rega's. P2, P3, P3 24 and P9 with a RB700. The biggest difference I heard was going from the P3 24 to the same unit with the speed controller. I would never own a Rega without the outboard PS. I do think the newer arms are better, RB301 or RB700 due to the better wiring. I also do not like the Cardas upgrade that many people like. I found it sounded darker, for lack of a better word.

The main difference is that the p25 can't be used with the excellent Rega TT-psu, they sound broadly similar without one however. If you get any rega under the P7 its worth replacing the stock plastic sub-platter, they really are far from round in some cases- the mod is as good as the TT-psu.
