Not sure what you are getting at, the boards don't have a use-by-date so not sure what fresh boards will offer.

I've measured the current draw of the Red Barons, they are the same. The master/slave links are about 30mm, I don't think that would be too long. Since I get good music with either Red Baron connected separately it must be either a problem syncing them when parallel or with the Tube-I-Zator somehow. Though reducing the I/V to 20 ohms must certainly mean it isn't over driven. I have changed the tubes with no change in distortion. I've reflowed solder joints though none looked bad.

New Red Baron pre-order list

Hi Oliver,

Red Baron V5.0 is an excellent board, so you will have no problems to collect 20+ order.
As for me, I have need for at least four Red Barons V5.0 for today only.
Plus four PCB for future needs, so I can order eight PCB right now.

So you already have pre-order list for 10 PCB:

I tried the USB Amanero and it worked with both Red Barons connected. So I hooked up the Twisted Pear again and it's working too. I don't know what it was. I must have connected and reconnected everything about 20 times and all of a sudden of it goes.

I've found the issue. It is the relay board. When I connected the USB I went straight to the Red Barons. I wired everything back up through the relay board and the distortion is back with the spdif . Oliver, do you have any relay boards left? I'm sure it's a relay but I build a new one from scratch if you have.

Guys, if you want to build the RB with the onboard I/V converter, you will need the DC Reference Module, too.

Please add it if needed!

The relay pcb is sold out, sorry. Use the OTTO-II form Twisted Pear Audio. 😉

Ok..I need to slow down and get things right. I for sure want the onboard IV so I will add the DC reference module...I am hoping to do a dual mono RB setup using Ian's i2S to PCM board in simultaneous mode. Would I need 1 or 2 of the DC Reference Modules ?
Are the PSU boards in stock also ?

You will need one DC Reference Module for each RB. The +/- PSU Module, TDA1541A Shunt Module and +5V Shunt Module are in stock.
