R108 is the negative feedback.
Changing R108:R104 ratio changes the gain, same as all the other feedback topologies

Hi ! i have one of this preamp. And i would like to reduce the V gain to 2-3.
I thought the rule were: gain = R104/R108 ...
but it is not so because, from the article, the V gain is around 6 times
(I do not understand the text on the topic well i am afraid)
Moreover if i change R104 to le'ts say 400 ohm to reduce the gain and consequently V supply to 36V (or 500 ohm and 40Vsupply)
may i keep all other parts values ?

Far too noisy and far too much distortion for my liking.
And the output impedance is high @ 1k, so would benefit from an added output Buffer stage
concerning the noise, do you think that is coming from power supply ?
i understand that the circuit has a low PSRR and so PS quality makes a difference.
Thanks a lot
