Hi and sorry for the noob question.
Im looking to build an amplifier that calls for a 5U4 rectifier. A friend gave me two GZ34.
Can a GZ34 replace a 5U4 without modification to the circuit ?
Where can I find documentation on each of the tubes ?

gz34 has less max voltage and current limits. so it may work. it may also not work. read up on the datasheet and compare.
ps. most b+ schematics would state the voltage output but not the current. so you may find that voltage wise, it's okay but when you power it on, a single gz34 won't be enough. you can always use always parallel 2x gz34 to make sure you have enough current.

very accurate and detailled information as well and much much more there to spend some time on..
