Thats a cerwin vega driver, looks like a woofer out of a B-36 bass bin. Contact them about reconing, they do have a service center in canada.

I personally wouldn't get that speaker reconed if its in the Cerwin Vega B-36 bin.
Because it has pressed steel frame and no vented pole piece, so definatly no good for pro audio.

Not sure about the b-36's you had, but the ones I had did have a cast aluminum frame. And the one pictured is identical to mine. The motor assembly is huge too, that alone with dissapate a bunch of heat. They were actually great subs. Maybe someone put some other woofers in there before you bought them?
I installed 18" strokers in my B-36's and the output was amazing. I only had 750w going to each one too, i cant imagine what they would sound like with a bigger amp.
I only used them a couple of gigs and actually got complaints from having it too loud and too much bass so I decided to just get rid of them after. Wasnt worth the trouble. But they did sound amazing. I have never seen a single 18 sub get anywhere close to the output of them.
