I recently discovered that I had some 48VAC CT transformers in the basement of my house. (I have pile of stuff I have recovered from old telecommunications equipment at work)
I am looking for a solid state design. I have to use the transformers that I found because I am on a budget.
What can you recomend?
Preferably a good sounding class AB design ? I dont know if you guys think that that is a contradiction.

Tjena!
How many VA are those transformers (approximately)?
If you´re on a budget, have a look at Rod Elliots P3A or some LM3886 gainclone.

Sorry I forgot I guess it would be kind of hard to recomend anything without knowing the VA rating.
The transformers are 2x24VAC CT 300VA

You can make either a p3a (sound.westhost.com), or a gainclone (check the chip amp forum for schematics/etc)
I believe elizard choices are good ones.
IMO, using budget components, the p3 will sound a little better than the gainclone but will end up costings a little more.
If you can increase your budget, I'd recommend an AKSA 55.
