One of the caps in my old Technics SU-V470 (formerly known as panasonic suv470) has died.
Now my noob-question is this:
Can I replace the caps with bigger cap (higher uF) from 6800 to 10000? And can I use an higher voltage cap, or is that conpletely useless? I'm thinking of using Elna 10000uF 63Volt versions
And for a better sound, and refurbishing needs: Can I replace the other caps as well with the same uF and a higher voltage, or should I just replace them without changing the values to much?
Any suggestion would be nice.

Higher voltage rating is ok,but with different capacitance,then you should listen to it for yourself.
Most consumer amps and receivers are very "undercapped"
to up both the voltage (derating..more reliable ..80v best)
and to increase the capacitance (more headroom..louder)
is going to give you a MUCH better sounding amp.
Before I built my own and had to have a commercial stereo
I would add another 8000-10000 uf to my amp just
to "crank it up" louder at parties. Be careful those caps
can shock the hell out of you..(A 10000uf at 60v has enough
power to lift a 30lb dog 3 feet off of the floor!)
As far as the "other caps" leave them alone.. just the big ones
(main PS) are worth changing...have fun..

And what about the bypassing of a Capacitor?
Read it somewhere here on the forum, does it really improve the sound? For example, can I bypass the PSU-capacitors with a Vishay MKP 1837 0.01 uF or should I just buy good capacitors...
